30 Day Writing Challenge: Day 5

LIST FIVE PLACES YOU WANT TO VISIT

I could travel the world and be satisfied. I suppose we all would, really. I had to give this challenge a bit more thought. I can’t say these are my top five places, however they are definitely places I would like to visit to.

Orcus Island is the largest of the San Juan Islands, which are located in the northwestern corner of Washington state inorcus San Juan County, Washington. I’ve been there once, in 1998. So why would I want to visit again? It’s a beautiful place to see. I certainly did not get enough time there. The real reason is because my head was in the clouds when I visited. So much so, that I didn’t ‘really’ get to see the beauty of the island. At the time, all I cared about was the guy in front of me. I wasn’t even in love with him. (That’s a whole other blog post…if ever it became one.) I have one single, solitary picture of the entire weekend experience and it is of a waterfall. Lovely picture. So I’d like to travel back there, alone this time, to breath in all that the island has to offer me.

pyramids

The Pyramids of Egypt is my next choice. For the longest time, I’ve always wanted to see them. At one point in time I was completely head over heels with the notion of those pyramids. To imagine human hands (and sweat) created them. I want to see and feel the magnitude of the pyramids for myself. It’s one thing to look at images on the screen, or look them up on Google Maps even. It’s something entirely different to breath in the Egypt air and touch the pyramids with your own hands. I want to do that. Very much so.

London is the next place I would want to visit. London is home to so many literary masterwriters. Legends of a unique breed. Charles Dickens, Geoffrey Chaucer, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and more. I mean, come on…Westminster Abbey!!! Hello! I could take a Doctor Who tour there as well. 🙂 Oh, and we can’t forget Downton Abbey. And Stonehenge. There are just too many places one could lose themselves in when in London.

New York City is another grand, spectacular place I’d like to visit. The art, the music, the Broadway performances. The pubs. I could go on and on about the rich historical value as well as the artistic atmosphere. I would probably  not even know where to begin and I doubt I could stop in just one visit.

The last place I would like to visit is Graceland. I’d love to see the home of Elvis Presley. I love teaching about Elvis and listening to his music in my music class. There really isn’t any huge reason. I just like his music and movies and would love to see the historical home. 🙂

Cheers,

Michala Tyann
